After several murders of African-American males one summer in her hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Shatona Kilgore-Groves, Master of Science with a Concentration in Psychology (MS/P) ’10, and her husband asked themselves how they could stop the alarming trend. They decided to ask families about their own experiences in reaching and educating young black men. A Black Parent’s Memoir is the published result.
