Dr. Farzana Hassan, Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (EdD) ’10, explores the origins of apocalyptic prophecy in Christianity and Islam through an examination of religious texts in her book Prophecy and the Fundamentalist Quest. In addition, Dr. Hassan provides an analysis of current world politics, including the Iraq war within the context of Christian and Islamic prophecy.

Dr. Hassan is an author and freelance writer based in Toronto, Canada. She is a regular contributor to Canada’s national newspapers and has also recently participated in the world-famous Doha Debates.

When Kimberly Kisner, Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing (MBA/MKT) ’06, found herself unemployed, she began to think of all the times she had been in the same situation. She decided to write a book that would provide readers with tips and insights on how to handle their own layoff situation.

The end result is Kisner’s new book, Laid Off But Not Laid Out, Tips for Surviving a LayOff. Readers will learn how to grieve the loss of their job, the art of negotiating bills and how important it is to have a fall-back plan.

Today, Kisner has her own marketing company, Perceptions Marketing Group, and lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Corbett, Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BS/P) ’11, creator of a growing international organization called Cooperative Kids, is providing live training materials to help parents and professionals better understand children’s behavior. He recently presented a workshop on tips for parents and caregivers based on the theories in his book, 10 Tips for Creating Cooperative Kids at Coginchaug High School in Durham, Connecticut. Also, his book Love, Limits, & Lessons: A Parent’s Guide to Raising Cooperative Kids won the Parent Tested, Parent Approved Award for 2010.

Kevin Campbell, Master of Business Administration (MBA) ’09, was recently promoted to sergeant with the Evanston Police Department. Campbell has been with the Evanston Police Department since 2003.

Donald Kretchman, Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Management (BSB/M) ’09, was named general manager of Landmark Aviation-AVL. Kretchman has nearly 10 years of experience in the aviation industry and is a former pilot. Landmark Aviation operates a network of fixed-base operations located throughout the United States, Canada and Western Europe.

Tenise Faulkner, Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) ’08, joined Northwest Mississippi Community College as the public service and reference librarian. “I have a passion for reading, helping others and learning new information,” Faulkner says. “I cannot imagine any other profession for me besides being a librarian, which involves all three passions.”

Schultz currently serves as ships master and offshore installation manager for Helix Energy Services Group.

Tracy Fletcher, Master of Business Administration (MBA) ’09, has been hired as executive director of the Amigo Airsho, which provides family entertainment that enriches Texas, New Mexico and Northern Mexico through aviation.
